If you are in the UK then its a 15 so you may have to sneak in, at the cinema i went to they asked me for id so i could go in even with a parent. I would take a mature 13 year old to the cinema to see this and not someone who gets scared easily. Venom swears quite a bit buts its nothing a teenager or younger couldnt handle. It should've been spread out throughout the whole film. At the end of the film you get the big battle which is quite violent and it feels like there is too much violence at the end. Of course there is some violence at the start such as : hand biting (mostly off screen), prison officer getting killed with a tongue down the throat, there is an animated scene of Cletus Cassidy killing his mother, nan and getting abused by his father. Most of the eponymous carnage occurs in such dim lighting that most of the gory details are hard to see, significantly reducing the grossness component. This film has little violence at the beginning but a lot at the end. Moderate 130 of 259 found this moderate Several characters getting eaten, beaten, stabbed, hanged, strangled, impaled, shot, and poisoned - all in a supernatural context and with no blood or gore. I think if this films violence wasnt all packed together then it would definitely be a 12A. It’s funny, action-packed, and has a little surprise at the end :).

That’s not saying it’s bad, it just that it’s darker than your typical Marvel movie. This movie is definitely pushing PG-13 to its limits. It’s a well paced movie that has no boring parts to it.
